Cyber security expert, Earthweb’s Trevor Cooke, has recently revealed the Top 5 email subjects that should make you think twice before opening.
Malicious emails are being sent out in their millions to just about anyone with an email address. The problem is that the results of you opening some of these emails might not just have personal consequences for you, but you may have just let someone into your company’s systems with potentially catastrophic results, making you very unpopular at the next office party, if your company is still around to have one.

The practise is known as “Phishing”.
It is not new but such attacks are getting more frequent and better organised.
The ”Bad Actor” aka sender, is hoping that the recipient will be naïve enough to follow a link.
By the way, the “real” sender is almost certainly NOT person mentioned in the email,
1. Urgent Action Required.
2. Account Suspension.
3. Unusual logon activity detected.
4. Click here for a special offer.
5. Congratulations! You’ve won!
If the idea is that you follow a link and even if the logos look genuine and the site you have been directed to has the look and feel of a genuine organisation, get out of there fast!
Stay vigilant and make sure your colleagues/staff are also aware of the dangers of “Phishing”.
